Tim Reid, a native of Sydney, is an accomplished songwriter with two record releases in his homeland, national airplay, television performances and national tours under his belt. With a sensibility often likened to that of fellow antipodean Neil Finn and a firmly acoustic approach, Tim has etched his own sound, writing and recording his music in various houses and studios around the world over the better part of the last 10 years. A strong believer in DIY when it comes to his music, Tim's sound is often articulated as being 'personal' and 'warm', descriptions which are no doubt born of him spending much time producing his own sound and playing most of the instruments.

"I was inspired by an early encounter with my dad's Beatles collection to pick up the guitar and teach myself the basics. I managed also to persuade my parents to send me to piano lessons and ever since then I have been hooked. I later developed an affinity for the songwriter; artists like Michael Penn stand out to me as great examples of what good songwriting is all about. In the end, making music is just the best thing that I can think of to do."

With an early EP 'Catherine' (1998), his debut album 'Any Given Day' (2004) and collaborations with artists such as Sophie Koh under his belt, Tim's focus on songwriting is evident. He has spent the last two years traveling, performing and writing, spending long periods in London and Rome and returns to Australia in September 2007 to focus on releasing his forthcoming second album.
